A Democratic senator from Connecticut seized on a President Donald Trump's tweet Sunday, which announced an upcoming political trip to Missouri and was commingled among 10 presidential statements, including six of which addressed the recovery efforts after Hurricane Harvey.
Sen. Chris Murphy, D-Conn., a frequent critic of President Trump and someone considered a potential 2020 White House challenger, tweeted a rebuke of the timing President Trump's tweet amid a series of Hurricane Harvey statements.
The tweet that irked Sen. Murphy announced a trip to Missouri this week after a tweet about a trip to the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey in Texas.
Sen. Murphy made no mention of President Trump's other various statements on Hurricane Harvey recovery and relief efforts Sunday morning. Sen. Murphy also did not denounce a pair of Trump tweets on the Mexico border wall and renegotiation of NAFTA.
