A photographer captured former Democratic Rep. Anthony Weiner moving a few final possessions out of his Queens, N.Y., home on Saturday at a pivotal moment for his embattled ex-colleagues as they tried to hold onto his congressional seat.

The New York Post captured a photo of the disgraced politician carrying boxes as he moved out of his district and into a luxury apartment in Manhattan’s Greenwich Village, according to sources.

The move comes “just in time to remind voters why they have to vote today—because he resigned in a sexting scandal that made him a national laughingstock,” the newspaper quipped.

The contentious battle over Weiner’s seat is being fought between Democratic State Assemblyman David Weprin and Republican businessman Bob Turner.

Among Turner’s supporters are former 2012 presidential candidate Donald Trump and former New York City Mayor Rudolph Giuliani. Giuliani accused Weprin of distancing himself from President Barack Obama, saying that his “strategy is running away from the current president of his party. That’s a heck of a statement.”

The winner of the election, which takes place today, will occupy the seat for only a year before the 9th Congressional District is redrawn.
