Freshman Rep. Allen West criticized Obama’s use of the military in Libya, specifically the fact that $115 million was spent in the first 36 hours in the country, reports PolitiFact.

“In the first 24 to 36 hours, you saw $115 million go downrange because a Tomahawk cruise missile is a little over $1 million each,” the congressman said during a Fox News interview.

Navy spokeswoman Amanda Greenberg confirmed West’s calculations, telling PolitiFact that one Tomahawk cruise missle costs approximately $1.1 million.

The White House has reported that as of June 3, the total cost of American operations in Libya is more than $700 million and will break through $1 billion by mid-September.
