Republican U.S. Senate candidate George Allen has unveiled a gas price calculator that allows visitors to gauge how much they are paying each time they fill up, based on the make and model of their cars.

The former Virginia governor and ex-U.S. senator is running against another former governor, Tim Kaine, for the Senate seat that Democrat Jim Webb is vacating. Allen is underscoring the near-record gas prices as a chink in the Obama administration’s armor, in hopes of discrediting Kaine, who also heads the Democratic National Committee.

The site, called Too Much At The Pump, proclaims: “In just three years, how much more do you pay to fill up?” and features the $1.85 average price of a gallon of gas when President Barack Obama took office next to the current average of $3.87.

“In the three years since President Obama took office and Tim Kaine became his Democratic National Committee chairman, gas prices have skyrocketed,” said Allen campaign manager Mike Thomas. “America can’t afford to sit back and scratch our heads as gasoline prices continue to surge. We need decisive leadership and the political will in Washington to take action.”

The calculator will update gasoline costs weekly.
