Firebrand Florida freshman Rep. Allen West has accused the Democrats of engaging in malfeasance over early voting in the Sunshine state.
Florida’s Democratic Party sued Sunday to extend early voting, which was supposed to end Saturday. The Democrats filed their lawsuit after voters waited as long as six hours to vote Saturday. Some counties continued voting beyond the deadline.
“I think you’re starting to see some nefarious actions already coming from the other side, because there’s been an incredible turnout from Republican voters on the early voting down here in Florida,” West told Fox News.

West is engaged in a heated battle with Democrat Patrick Murphy for the 18th District House seat. Recent polls have shown him in front by around of 5 percentage points.
West said he, his wife, and daughter voted early, waiting in line about an hour to cast their ballots. With early voting, absentee ballots, and Election Day all at hand, “you’re starting to see some shenanigans beginning to take place,” he said.
More than 4.4 million Floridians cast early and absentee ballots as of Nov. 3, according to the Florida State Department, Bloomberg reports. Democratic voters punched in 43 percent of those ballots, compared to 39 percent for Republicans.
