A new poll shows Republican Daniel Webster maintaining his 7-point lead over incumbent Democratic Rep. Alan Grayson (pictured). Webster leads Grayson 48 percent to 41 percent, up from 43-36 in September, according to Sunshine State News.

Webster, Grayson, Florida, pollJim Lee, president of Voter Survey Service, which conducted the poll, called Webster the “favorite” pick, noting that “Grayson has failed to turn his negative image around.”

The race for Florida’s 8th congressional district has been marked by extremely negative ads from Grayson’s camp, including one that labeled Webster “Taliban Dan,” branding him as a religious extremist.

A spokeswoman for Webster said that despite the flood of negative ads from Grayson, “We trust that our positive message will win the day in Central Florida.”
