For the second straight election, Democratic National Committee chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz will face a challenge from Republican Karen Harrington.
Harrington, a restaurant owner, easily won a GOP primary on Tuesday against four other hopefuls, setting up the rematch with Wasserman Schultz.
She immediately called for Wasserman Schultz to face her in debates, saying the incumbent “needs to stand by her policies ane her positions,” reported the
Sun Sentinel.
They fought in the state’s 20th district in 2010, but this year it will be the 23rd district because of remapping. It is centered on Fort Lauderdale.
Wasserman Schultz won by 60 percent to 38 percent in 2010.
