The good news continues to mount for Republican efforts to win back control of Congress. A new poll by SurveyUSA shows Republican Steve Chabot leading Democratic Rep. Steve Driehaus 53 Steve Chabot, Steve Driehaus, SurveyUSA pollpercent to 41 percent in Ohio’s hotly contested 1st District, Roll Call reports.

Chabot, who represented the 1st district for 14 years before losing to Driehaus in 2008, has a 20-point lead among independent voters and even draws support from 12 percent of Democrats.

Separately, Roll Call named Driehaus the fifth-most vulnerable in Congress this year, because he will likely need a huge Democratic turnout to win.
