Sen. Scott Brown, R-Mass., announced Monday that he won’t support the House-passed GOP budget penned by House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan. And Rep. Joe Walsh, R-Ill., quickly took Brown to task for that stance, The Hill reports.

"Respectfully, Scott Brown ought to be ashamed of himself," Walsh told Fox Business Network.

"This is the defining moment of this generation. We have got to be bold. We know these entitlements have to be reformed to be saved. He knows that."

Walsh said Republicans who oppose the plan are simply giving in to politics.

"This is not time to be politically scared,” Walsh said. “Every day I am in this town, I am more convinced this president has no clue as to the financial cliff we are about to fall off of.”

Brown complimented Ryan’s willingness to address difficult issues but said he disagreed with proposed Medicare cuts.
