Supporters of former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin continue to push for her to jump into the Republican presidential contest, reports the Alaska Dispatch.

A group, which clearly states it has no direct ties to Palin, bought radio and television advertising time in Iowa for the days leading up to the Republican caucuses.

The ads encourage Palin supporters to “vote rogue” during the caucuses on Tuesday, with the rogue reference to the 2008 GOP vice-presidential candidate's book "Going Rogue: An American Life." Palin is not on ballots caucus-goers will use, so participants would have to write her in.

A group called “Sarah Palin’s Earthquake Movement” bought the airtime. The name is based on comments Palin made during a radio show, when she said “that it would take an earthquake” to make her change her mind and throw her hat in the ring, the group says.

If Palin "could get up to 5 percent of Iowans to caucus for her, it would make an extremely powerful statement,” group member Brian Lerch told the Alaska Dispatch.

Palin announced on Oct. 5 that she was not going to enter the race. Since then, groups such as Conservatives4Palin have urged her to reconsider.

“It seems that Palinistas are verbalizing what many other Republicans are thinking about the current field. They, unlike the other Republicans, however, aren’t ready to settle for second-best,” the Alaska Dispatch noted.

But people close to Palin say these ads won’t have much of an effect.

Steve Brannon, who wrote and directed a Palin movie called “The Undefeated,” said, "It does not reflect well on the Palin movement when you can’t take no for an answer. Taking a few ads in Iowa isn’t going to change her mind.”
