Romney To Give $41,500 to GOP in Iowa

Perhaps hoping to buttress his standing in the state holding the first presidential primary, former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney is set to announce a donation of $41,500 to 38 Republican campaigns in Iowa today. The potential presidential candidate already has announced his support for Terry Branstad’s gubernatorial race, The Hill reports.

Romney, gop, iowa, donationNow he is set to back Dave Jamison for Iowa state treasurer, Matt Schultz for secretary of state and Brenna Findley for attorney general too.

As for congressional candidates, Romney already has given to Sen. Chuck Grassley and will now donate to Reps. Tom Latham and Steve King along with House candidates Ben Lange, Mariannette Miller-Meeks and Brad Zaun “By electing candidates like these, we will finally get people back to work and turn out troubled economy around,” Romney said in a statement.
