Presumptive Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney plans a fresh appeal to Hispanic voters as his team looks to the general election campaign.
Romney was in Arizona on Friday to hold a business round-table with Hispanic leaders and a campaign rally in Tempe.
His push for Hispanic support comes as President Barack Obama's re-election campaign has started airing Spanish-language ads in critical swing states. Hispanic voters overwhelmingly supported Obama in the 2008 election.
Republican officials said Romney also was meeting privately with Republican National Committee members who supported him during the primary process, before a public address to an annual gathering of state party chairs.
Romney's campaign is beginning to informally coordinate with the RNC as it lays the groundwork for the fall campaign.
