Santorum to Campaign in Pennsylvania, Missouri Next Week

Saturday, 07 April 2012 10:33 PM EDT

Rick Santorum will be in Pennsylvania and Missouri over four days next week, his campaign said Saturday.

The Hill reports that the campaign released a schedule of six events for Tuesday through Friday, an indication the former Pennsylvania senator's exit from the presidential race is not imminent despite increasing speculation otherwise.

Santorum is taking a break from campaigning over the Easter weekend. On Friday, his campaign announced that Santorum's daughter, Bella, had to be hospitalized for the second time in the last three months. She suffers from Trisomy 18, a chromosomal disorder.

Santorum's campaign said there be no campaign events on Monday so the candidate could spend time with Bella.

"Senator Santorum will not hold any campaign related events on Monday so that he and Karen can remain in the hospital with their daughter Bella," campaign spokesman Hogan Gidley said in a statement reported by The Hill. "The entire Santorum family is incredibly grateful for the outpouring of prayers and support."

Among the events announced by the Santorum campaign is an appearance with Dr. James Dobson, founder of the conservative group Focus on the Family. Santorum will spend the middle of the week in Pennsylvania, then travel to Missouri on Friday.
