President Barack Obama will find himself trailing in the dust of his rival Mitt Romney as he hits towns in Ohio on Thursday and Friday.
Obama’s bus tour will take him to Maumee, Parma and the Youngstown area just hours after two of Romney’s big-name supporters — Gov. Bobby Jindal of Louisiana and Tim Pawlenty the former governor of Minnesota — visit the same places, the
Cleveland Plain Dealer reported.
Jindal and Pawlenty will start at 8.30 in Maumee, a suburb of Toledo. Obama is expected there at noon. Then the two governors head east to Parma for a rally starting at 12.15 p.m. — seven hours before Obama’s visit.
They are due in Youngstown later in the day. Obama will be in the nearby suburb of Poland on Friday.
The Plain Dealer said Jindal and Pawlenty’s hastily arranged trip — it was only announced late on Wednesday — is known as “bracketing” in political circles. “It has become a way of life on the 2012 campaign trail, particularly in swing state Ohio,” the paper said.
