Poll: Obama Leads in N.C. by 4

A new High Point University poll released on Friday shows President Obama leading GOP challenger Mitt Romney by four points in the critical battleground state of North Carolina.

Obama leads 48 to 44, according to the poll, which was conducted between Sept. 8-13 and Sept. 15-18  The poll of 515 adults has a margin of error of 4.4 percent.

Another poll released on Friday by Purple Strategies shows the president besting Romney by 2 points in North Carolina — 48 to 46 points.

Purple Strategies covers only so-called “purple” states — those neither strongly red Republican nor blue Democrat.
