With just 100 days before the election, the Obama and Romney campaigns are fighting it out for a handful of voters, spending hundreds of millions to woo the undecided in Florida, Missouri, Ohio and Virginia.

The small sliver of voters who are undecided remain conflicted about the choices, The Washington Post reported.

The Post interviewed dozens of voters in those four states and found that despite heavy advertising, many voters know only that Mitt Romney is rich and a Mormon and not Barack Obama.

“I’m not sure that 100 days out is going to feel much different than 105 days out or 95 days out,” Ed Gillespie, a senior Romney adviser, told the Post.

Polls show that more than two-thirds already have all the information necessary to choose between the two candidates. Post reporters interviewed voters in counties that went for George W. Bush in 2000 and 2004 and for Obama in 2008.

Ohioan Pam Nickel, 55, voted for Bush twice and then sat out the 2008 election. She’s unhappy with Obamacare but fears Romney is out of touch with the middle class.

David Dent, a professor at New York University, said voters such as Nickel are rare. He has studied the 272 counties in the United States that voted for Bush twice and then went Democratic in 2008.

“People do not feel like [Obama] has lived up to those very high expectations,” Dent told the Post. “But, on the other hand . . . a lot of people feel that Romney has not provided a strong enough alternative.”

Missouri’s Barbara Spurlock, 78, voted for Obama last time but is unhappy with him now. However, she won’t be voting for Romney, telling the Post, “I’m not a Mormon, for one thing.”
