Norquist: Obamacare Increases Healthcare Costs

Grover Norquist, president of Americans for Tax Reform, said Obamacare raises taxes on lower-income Americans and includes 20 specific increases.

Norquist, who drafted the anti-tax pledge signed by almost every Republican in Congress, said President Barack Obama’s signature piece of legislation does nothing to lower the costs of healthcare.

“We were sold hope and change,” Norquist said Sunday on CBS’ “Face the Nation.” “They didn’t have a written-down plan, which is why it’s so odd that the president attacks [Paul] Ryan and [Mitt] Romney for putting forward actual specifics on reforms when they offer no specifics.”
