If former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin seeks the GOP presidential nomination in 2012, Rudy Giuliani says he might do so, too. In an interview to be aired Monday on CNN's “Piers Morgan Tonight,” the former New York City mayor said he could become the voice of moderation in the GOP.

"My one chance – if I have a chance – is that I'm considered a moderate Republican. So, the more Republicans in which I can show a contrast, probably the better chance that I have,” Giuliani said, adding that the lack of a favorite makes the GOP nomination chase a “fluid situation.”

“There is no obvious front-runner right now," Giuliani said. "I guess everybody is happy with that, because nobody wants to be the front-runner at this point because it always seems the front-runner gets all the attention, all of the negative publicity."

Morgan asked Giuliani whether his consideration to run would make him “the acceptable face of the Republican Party.”

“I don't know if I'm acceptable, but the question is, the way I got elected mayor of New York City was not being acceptable,” Giuliani said. “My slogan was: ‘You can't do any worse. Things are so bad you need me.’”

Giuliani sought the Republican presidential nomination in 2008 but failed to gain much traction and eventually dropped out.
