Money isn’t everything. Freshman Rep. Frank Kratovil, D-Md., is in trouble, despite the fact that the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee has spent more than twice as much on him as the National Republican Congressional Committee has spent on Republican candidate Andy Harris, Roll Call reports.

Frank Kratovil, Andy Harris, DCCCA new Monmouth University poll shows that Harris leads Kratovil in Maryland’s 1st District by 53 percent to 42 percent among likely voters, with a 3.9-point margin of error.

This is a rematch of the 2008 race, which Kratovil won by a slim 49-48 percent result.

“Prior to 2008, this seat was safely in the Republican fold. It looks like it will revert to form in 2010,” Patrick Murray, director of the Monmouth University Polling Institute, writes in his polling memo Thursday.

The DCCC has so doled out more than $1.1 million on the race, compared to less than $500,000 spent by the NRCC.
