The 2016 presidential race entered the realm of fantasy this week as Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren took a page from the "Harry Potter" books and said she's ready to teach wizardry to help battle the "dark arts"of Donald Trump.
In a tweet aimed at J.K. Rowling, author of the best-selling books about the famous boy wizard at a British magic school, Warren — on the short list of candidates to be Hillary Clinton's vice-presidential running mate — wrote:
The wild offer came after Rowling unveiled a new story which features an American counterpart to the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, located in Massachusetts.
As
the Boston Globe reported, the new Rowling story on Pottermore.com involves the Ilvermorny School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in the Berkshires.
In the past few weeks, Warren has pounded Trump and his policy proposals, often matching him in blunt, in-your-face insults.
Earlier this week, she called the presumptive Republican presidential nominee a "thin-skinned bully who is driven by hate and greed."
Rowling is no fan of Trump either. She said he had the right to be "offensive and bigoted."
