CIA Analyst Who Quit Over Trump Donated $5K to Hillary

The CIA analyst who quit President Donald Trump's administration and protested that it had nothing to do with politics donated $5,000 to Hillary Clinton's failed campaign.

Registered Democrat Edward Price, who's been making the rounds — The Washington Post, CNN — exhorting his principled decision to leave the National Security Council because of Steve Bannon, gave $5,000 to Hillary for America ($2,700) and the Democratic National Committee's "Hillary's Victory Fund" ($2,300) back in August.

Price defended his contributions, telling CNN's Wolf Blitzer he gave to "candidates who I thought shared my values."

Price tried to position himself as objective.

"I worked proudly for President George W. Bush. He was commander in chief," Price told Blitzer. "I didn't necessarily agree with him, but I respected the way he kept our country safe."

Price wrote a column for The Washington Post on Monday defending his decision.

"To be clear, my decision had nothing to do with politics, and I would have been proud to again work under a Republican administration open to intelligence analysis," Price wrote.
