Boehner Sets Meet-Greet for 15 GOP Govs With Congressional Leaders

Incoming House Speaker John Boehner has set up a meeting this week in Washington between the GOP congressional leadership and 15 Republican governors-elect. Incoming Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and other Republican leaders in Congress are scheduled to attend, The Hill reports.

Boehner, GOP, governors, Washington, McConnell,"Washington doesn't have all the answers, and the best solutions usually come from outside the Beltway," the Ohio Republican said.

"Republicans may still be outnumbered in Washington, but with the American people and reform-minded governors standing with us, there's a lot we can do together to stop runaway government spending and help small businesses get back to creating jobs."

The governors include Robert Bentley of Alabama, Rick Scott of Florida, Terry Branstad of Iowa, Sam Brownback of Kansas, Paul LePage of Maine, Rick Snyder of Michigan, Brian Sandoval of Nevada, Susana Martinez of New Mexico, John Kasich of Ohio, Mary Fallin of Oklahoma, Tom Corbett of Pennsylvania, Nikki Haley of South Carolina, Dennis Daugaard of South Dakota, Bill Haslam of Tennessee, and Matt Mead of Wyoming.
