Two members of Hillary Clinton's campaign were worried her husband was "out of touch" earlier this year during a New Hampshire speech.

According to a hacked email released by WikiLeaks, Clinton campaign spokesman Josh Schwerin raised the issue about former President Bill Clinton in January.

"WJC just told an anecdote about somebody making $110k per year with student loans as an example of someone who would struggle," Schwerin wrote. "Could see that being used to say he's out of touch."

The email was part of a large chain with several Clinton campaign staffers. Tina Flournoy, another member of the Clinton team, chimed in and seemed to agree with Schwerin's assessment.

"Or it's so bad that even if you make $110k you struggle. Imagine how it is for those making less," Flournoy said.

Both were overruled by Jennifer Palmieri, the Clinton campaign's director of communications.

"Thanks for flagging, Josh. Think it is fine," Palmieri wrote.

Bill Clinton gave speeches on behalf of his wife's presidential campaign Jan. 4 in Nashua, N.H. and Exeter, N.H. It was the first day he appeared without his wife while stumping for her White House hopes.

Bill Clinton's recent campaign appearances have been interrupted several times by protesters referencing allegations of his sexual misconduct dating back several years.
