Vice President Joe Biden and the White House are escalating their attacks on GOP political operatives Karl Rove and Ed Gillespie alleging improper campaign funding practices, The Daily Caller reported. During a fundraiser Monday in Pittsburgh, Biden accused the two, along with other Republican outside groups, of funneling millions of dollars from secret foreign donors to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce to help get Republicans elected to Congress.

Biden, Rove, Gillespie, DNC, Chamber"Karl Rove has gone out, because there's no longer a requirement to disclose who contributes to you, and gathered up tens of millions of dollars,” Biden said. “We don't know if they're coming from foreign sources. We have a pretty good idea where a lot of it's coming from: very conservative millionaires. I challenge Karl Rove to tell me that this money isn't coming from billionaires and millionaires, insurance companies, oil companies, major executives" who have little in common with most voters.

Rove, Biden, Gillespie, DNC, ChamberThe Democratic National Committee echoed Biden’s accusations Monday and aired a TV ad accusing the Chamber, along with Rove and Gillespie, of taking “secret money to influence our elections.”

Rove, who was President George W. Bush’s chief political strategist, and Gillespie, also a Bush White House adviser and former head of the Republican National Committee, have been weighing in on candidates’ chances in the various races in the run-up to the midterms.
