Leftward Firm Uses Bachmann Face to Sell Phone Service

Who knew there was such a thing as a left-leaning mobile phone company? But there is, and it’s chosen Michele Bachmann to sell its service!

Credo Mobile claims that AT&T gives huge donations to the tea party favorite and other conservatives, so progressives should dump the phone giant and move to its network. So far, its success has been limited, to say the least — after 11 years in the mobile phone business, it has a grand total of 110,000 subscribers, reports Roll Call. AT&T claims 130 million.

“To be a Credo Mobile customer — that’s an activist act,” the company’s political director, Becky Bond, told the paper.

Bachmann’s face is on fliers Credo put out under the line “AT&T is a Major Corporate Donor to the Tea Party.”

It’s not the first time the company, founded by Democratic donor Michael Kieschnick, has put a conservative face on its advertising literature. Karl Rove, Sean Hannity, and former Massey Energy boss Don Blankenship have been featured in past campaigns.

But this one just might be more successful. After all, a golden rule of advertising is that sex sells, even to lefties. And just last week, Tim Pawlenty campaign Chairman Vin Weber attributed Bachmann’s success to “sex appeal.”
