Hollywood is generally known as a hotbed of liberalism. But someone there obviously appreciates outspoken conservative Rep. Allen West, R-Fla. In a weekly newsletter to his constituents, the freshman legislator wrote that he received a phone call last week from “a very famous and popular Hollywood conservative actor,” The Hill reports.

The call was “the biggest surprise of [his] day,” West wrote, but he didn’t say who it was. And a spokesman for the congressman would say only that it was “a private conversation between Congressman West and the individual.”

With few star actors skewing conservative, The Hill guesses the caller was either Jon Voight, Kelsey Grammer, or Gary Sinise.

The support could come in handy for West, as West Palm Beach Mayor Lois Frankel, a liberal Democrat, announced this week that she will seek his seat next year.
