Conservatives had better hope Hillary Clinton is not indicted over her use of a private email server, lest it set up Vice President Joe Biden as the next president, political commentator Michael Reagan tells
Newsmax TV.
That's because some Republicans who are looking for an alternative to GOP presumptive nominee would prefer Biden over Trump, Reagan said Wednesday on "Newsmax Prime."
A Clinton indictment would bring Biden a "coronation" at the Democratic convention and then it would be on to the White House, he told host J.D. Hayworth, "because that will be a place that Republicans can go and hide from Donald Trump."
A lot of Republicans think they have to hold their nose and vote for Trump rather than face a Clinton presidency, Reagan said, but "no matter what you say about Biden … Biden is very likable and very relatable to a major portion of America."
Such Republicans would trust Biden more with the hands of power than Trump because they don't know what Trump would do.

Reagan called Weekly Standard editor Bill Kristol's
attempt to recruit National Review writer David French "stupid." Mitt Romney, the 2012 GOP nominee has endorsed a French candidacy, but that shows Romney to be a "poor loser," Reagan said.
"It really shows the reason he lost four years ago, because he's thin-skinned," he said.
"Get over it," Reagan added. "There's two choices: Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton."
