Republican political consultant Mary Matalin told
Newsmax TV Tuesday that Donald Trump's candidacy has "no conservatism in it" — though voter anger may be its strongest trait.
"There might be anger in it, but their anger isn't going to solve any of our problems," Matalin, a former adviser to Vice President Dick Cheney, told "The Steve Malzberg Show" in an interview. "I continue to have faith in conservatives and tea party people and right-thinking people and common sense Americans."

Matalin told Malzberg that Trump's recent boasting of his good relationship with high-profile congressional Democrats Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer is a clear indication that the Republican front-runner is not a conservative.
And for his angry supporters, "that might be his undoing if it's properly identified and echoed into the voting electorates," Matalin said.
