A report that violent offenders were among hundreds of illegal immigrants freed from U.S. jails in just one month of 2013 is, in fact, a deliberate undercounting of the number of migrant lawbreakers still at large, says one advocate of more secure U.S. borders.
"We've got thousands of illegal alien felons that have been released and are running around this country that are harming Americans in many different ways," William Gheen, president of Americans for Legal Immigration, told "MidPoint" host Ed Berliner on
Newsmax TV Friday.

Gheen was responding to a USA Today report that — contrary to
Obama administration assurances — the 617 illegal immigrants with criminal records released in February 2013 as part of a cost-cutting measure included people charged with, or convicted of, violent crimes such as kidnapping, sexual assault and homicide.
Gheen argued that USA Today's real aim in reporting on the releases was to defuse the story, and divert attention from the larger issue of illegal immigrants being encouraged to enter the country in transformational numbers.
"It is part of a broader agenda to transform or transfigure America into something different, and it's being conducted with the backing of elite lawmakers and financial forces and the end result is that thousands of americans are losing their lives because of it," said Gheen.
