President Donald Trump will visit a Catholic school in Orlando on Friday in what will be his first school visit since taking office.

According to the Orlando Sentinel, Trump will swing by St. Andrew Catholic School to attend a school choice event. The Sentinel reports that the topic of conversation will likely be the Florida Tax Credit scholarship, which services students who live in low-income households.

The nonprofit Step Up For Students handles the scholarship program, and spokesman Jon East told the Sentinel he's glad Trump wants to hear about it.

"I think it's heartening that people want to see what's happening in Florida and also take a look at this scholarship program, the tax scholarship program," East said. "Because it does serve the kids, the most disadvantaged students in Florida."

The meeting, East said, will provide "a window into what school choice can mean broadly."

The Sentinel reports that 295 students attend St. Andrew via the scholarship, and nearly 98,000 use it in Florida.

Trump and Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos have touted school choice as a viable option for American children. Trump is reportedly considering a school choice tax credit for working-class families.

The Palm Beach Post reported Wednesday that Trump will visit his Mar-a-Lago resort on Friday and plans to stay until Sunday afternoon.
