Attorney General Eric Holder and Justice Department officials are “lying” and “passing the buck” in their response to questions about the “Fast and Furious” anti-gunrunning operation which cost border agent Brian Terry his life, Terry’s parents told Fox News’ Sean Hannity.

Terry’s parents said Holder and Justice officials are "hiding something" about “Fast and Furious,” they told Hannity. "They're lying. ... They're passing the buck," Kent Terry said. "I just know that they're hiding something big. Something happened out there."

Authorities believe two rifles used in the shooting may have been obtained through the Fast and Furious gunrunning operation set up by the U.S. Department of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) to trace weapons back to Mexican drug cartels.

According to disclosures made after Terry’s murder, some 2,020 guns, including .50 caliber sniper rifles, were smuggled into Mexico in 2009 and 2010 under the program.

But ATF officials quickly lost track of the weapons. Only 1,000 have since been recovered and the rest, apparently, remain in the hands of drug cartels they were supposed to help identify.

A possible U.S. House vote is due next week on whether to hold Holder in contempt of Congress for withholding certain documents from lawmakers about the operation.

On Wednesday, President Obama asserted executive privilege over some of the documents, meaning the Justice Department could withhold specified materials. But the Republican-led House Oversight Committee voted the same day to recommend a contempt citation to the full House, setting up a possible vote on whether to cite Holder for contempt.
