Poll: Rubio, Clinton Lead Their Parties for 2016 Presidential Nods

Republican Florida Sen. Marco Rubio and Democratic Secretary of State Hillary Clinton lead the contest within their parties for the 2016 presidential nomination, according to a survey from Public Policy Polling.
 
Rubio has the support of 18 percent of GOP voters, followed by New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie at 14 percent. Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush and Wisconsin Rep. Paul Ryan are tied for third at 12 percent.
 
They are followed by Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee with 11 percent; former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice with 8 percent; former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin and Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul tied at 7 percent; and former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum with 4 percent.
 
Among Democrats, Clinton leads with a whopping 61 percent support, followed by Vice President Joe Biden with 12 percent, and New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo with 5 percent.
 
They are trailed by Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren at 4 percent; Maryland Gov. Martin O'Malley at 2 percent; and Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick, Montana Gov. Brian Schweitzer, and Virginia Sen. Mark Warner tied at 1 percent.
 
Christie and Rice have the highest net favorability ratings, which represent favorable ratings minus unfavorable ratings. Christie and Rice garnered ratings of plus 22 percentage points — 48 percent favorable to 26 percent unfavorable for Christie and 51 to 29 for Rice. Clinton is next at 21 points — 57 to 36.
