Sarah Palin says she can't figure out why Time magazine would pick President Barack Obama as  "Person of the Year," since, she insisted, he's done nothing for the country "except drive us over a fiscal cliff."

"When I first heard that, first thing that popped into my mind was, 'What the heck has he done?'" the former Alaska governor and 2008 GOP vice presidential nominee told Fox News' Greta Van Susteren Wednesday night.

"Really, what has he done, except drive us over a fiscal cliff, which we are over, and now it's time to feel the thud at the bottom of that cliff. It's just now a matter of degree of how hard we're going to hit bottom," she continued

"But, you know, other than that, really, what has he done to unify and make our nation a more perfect union? For the life of me, I don't know, Greta!"

The governor, though, had to laugh at her own comment because, she noted,  Time has a history in her view of naming some questionable folks to its annual list of influential people — including her.

"I think there is some irrelevancy there, to tell you the truth," said Palin, now a Fox News contributor. "I mean consider their list of the most influential people in the country and in the world. Some who have made that list — yours truly!

"That ought to tell you something right there regarding the credence that we should give Time magazine and their list of people."
