First Lady Michelle Obama isn't a single mother – but sometimes she feels like one.
That's what she said Thursday when she accidentally called herself a “busy, single mother” during an television interview with Burlington, Vt.
CBS affiliate WCAX.
"Believe me, as a busy, single mother," she started, then quickly corrected herself: "I shouldn't say single. As a busy mother, sometimes, you know, when you've got the husband who's president, it can feel a little single. But he's there.”
Obama noted that before moving into the White House she was a very busy mom as well, juggling her law career with raising her children and trying to meet their needs.
“I was in that position, working, driving kids to practice, not having time to shop and cook,” she said. “Time and energy is key.”
