Conservative media mogul and Internet pioneer Matt Drudge blasted Senate Republicans on Twitter Friday for approving legislation that would give fast-track authority to President Barack Obama to negotiate foreign trade deals.
The Drudge Report founder unleashed his tirade in five posts late Friday after the Senate voted 62-37 following two weeks of intense debate.
Only four of the Senate's 56 GOP members voted against the bill; one Republican did not cast a vote.
By contrast, 30 of 44 Democrats
opposed giving Obama the authority as he seeks to complete a trade deal with Japan and 10 other Pacific nations.
Drudge was particularly virulent toward House Speaker John Boehner, who said he supported the bill and looked forward to helping it get passed in the lower chamber.
