Leonardo DiCaprio dropped out of hosting a fundraiser for Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton on Aug. 23 due to a scheduling conflict, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The Clinton fundraiser is a $33,400-per-guest event. It will now be hosted at the home of singer Justin Timberlake and his wife Jessica Biel.

Sources told the Hollywood Reporter that DiCaprio's current project is keeping him at work in New York.

The Clinton campaign said it was "completely false" that DiCaprio's exit from the event was connected to questions about an issue with DiCaprio's foundation, which is facing questions over ties to a $3 billion embezzlement case.

Another source with experience in political fundraisers said that keeping DiCaprio away from the Clinton event because of the scandal was a "no-brainer."

Clinton spokesman Josh Schwerin said that DiCaprio asked Timberlake and his wife to replace him as hosts.

"If we could have had the event at his home, we would have loved to. He was gracious enough to find us a new host. We hope to do something with him in the future," Schwerin said.

Another Hollywood Reporter story pointed out that DiCaprio's foundation is not set up as a nonprofit, but a "donor-advised fund," so the foundation is not required to file public disclosures.

DiCaprio has supported Clinton at other fundraisers, including a New York City event in June that raised $1.8 million, according to Deadline Hollywood.
