Former Congressman Pete Hoekstra, who chaired the House Intelligence Committee, says Israel is very concerned about the United Nations effort to give limited statehood to Palestine, and feels increasingly isolated in the region.

“I was in Israel about two months ago. Israel is very concerned about what is going on the Middle East,” Hoekstra tells Newsmax in an exclusive interview.

“Obviously, we all know about Egypt, we all know about Libya, we see the turmoil in Syria. They are very concerned about the message and what could happen in Jordan. They see themselves as being very isolated.

“Two months ago, they predicted almost exactly what was going to happen in Gaza and it actually did happen. Giving Gaza now a limited statehood and a limited form of recognition they see as one more step of isolation. They see it as being very problematic.”
