Russian President Vladimir Putin's praise of Donald Trump will "actually help" the Republican presidential front-runner, political strategist Dick Morris told
Newsmax TV on Thursday.
"Putin's image has gone through a bit of a transformation over the last few months as the memory of the atrocities he committed in Crimea and Ukraine fade and his very helpful posture in going after ISIS and Syria increases," Morris told "Newsmax Prime" host J.D. Hayworth. "Americans are looking at the contrasts between a Russian leader who's willing to act and an American leader who dithers."

"So he's doing pretty well and his praise is likely to help Trump."
Morris is the co-author of The New York Times best-seller,
"Power Grab: Obama’s Dangerous Plan for a One-Party Nation."
The remarks — "in a strange way" — also beat back criticism of Trump by the Republican establishment, he observed.
"They, in effect rebut those who say that Trump would not be able to conduct foreign policy because of his lack of experience."
"Here our chief adversary, or potential ally, is saying: 'No, I think he'd be quite a guy to deal with. He's got a tremendous amount of relevant experience in deal-making.'
"That probably really helps Trump."
