CNN commentator and former presidential campaign advisor James Carville has sent out an urgent email on behalf of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee urging them to donate.

Carville says “Saddle up! We're in for the ride of our lives — 7 days out and this baby is tied!”

He complains that Republicans have outspent the Democrats by $131 million and they have $169 million still to spend.

To counter this, he urges Democrats to donate $3.

The full Carville email follows:

Saddle up! We're in for the ride of our lives -- 7 days out and this baby is tied!

Listen, we always knew we were going to have to go through hell to win this damn thing. Republicans and their Super PACs have spent $131 million more than the Democrats -- and they've got $169 million left to spend before election day!

We aren't gonna match em - but we've gotta get another $1.3 million in the door before tomorrow's final fundraising deadline if we're going to fight back and turn out the votes we need to win.

Will you chip in $3 or more to win a Democratic majority for President Obama?

This race is tight but I'll tell you what, I sure am glad we've got one million folks like you ready to back up for President Obama.

Please donate what you can.

C'mon now!

James
