Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal says the Republican Party has to start liking people if it wants to broaden its base.

Former Commerce Secretary Carlos Gutierrez has a more nuts-and-bolts approach to bringing some of the largest and fastest growing groups of Americans to the GOP. He's forming a super PAC to support Republican candidates who back comprehensive immigration reform.

Republicans have spent much of the time since the election wrestling with ways to appeal beyond their mostly white base. Both Jindal and Gutierrez backed Mitt Romney but distanced themselves from his comments this week that President Barack Obama won re-election by giving his base coalition "extraordinary financial gifts from government."

Jindal tells Fox New Sunday that insulting people by saying their votes were bought isn't a good start.
