Donald Trump, speaking from Romney campaign headquarters in Boston, says he thinks over the next hour or so “we’re probably going to know one way or the other,” but he’s still optimistic of a Mitt Romney win.

“It’s going to be very interesting what happens in Ohio, which is early and what happens in Florida and a couple of other states,” he said in an exclusive interview with Newsmax TV’s Kathleen Walter in an exclusive interview. "So we’re going to have to see. It’s a little bit early but I would say over the next hour we’re probably going to know one way or another.”

However, he said he’s still optimistic about Romney’s chances, even though there were some states that were a disappointment.

“Certainly, a couple of states that he would have liked to have had he didn’t get and it will be interesting to see,” Trump said. “Ohio’s going to be very important. Florida, obviously. Virginia. So, they’re really just coming in but we’ll have to see what happens.”

Trump’s been described as a king maker when it comes to politics, and he says he’s pleased with the role he’s played this election.

“They’re very thankful,” he said. “We helped a lot of people. And we helped Mitt and a lot of other people. I’m very proud to have helped.”

Trump has huge projections for the stock market and gold, based on who wins.

“If Mitt wins, it will be very good for the market,” Trump said. “It will be very good for the country and we’ll see what’s going to happen with that. If Barack Obama wins, a lot of people will be disappointed but, you know, the win is the win.”

Meanwhile, Trump said Obama waged a campaign with a “negative tone.”

“I would have said you have to fight a lot tougher in the sense of they (the Romney campaign) were very nice with Obama,” Trump said. “But, look, if he wins, you’d have to give him credit and if Mitt wins, you have to give Mitt tremendous credit.”
