Cruz to Keynote Tea Party Event During Labor Day Rally

Sen. Ted Cruz will be the main speaker at a major tea party gathering in Florida sponsored by Americans for Prosperity during Labor Day Weekend.

The Texas Republican will join GOP Sen. Ron Johnson of Wisconsin and conservative commentator Michelle Malkin at the Orlando event, The Hill reports.

But Sen. Marco Rubio was not mentioned in the organization’s Friday release on Cruz’s appearance, the Hill reports. The Florida Republican has been previously announced as a speaker at the event.

Cruz is making several moves ahead of a potential presidential run, the Hill reports. He also plans to visit Iowa twice this summer, and he has traveled to South Carolina.
