Republican Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, fresh off his recall-election victory, said the Badger State could elect Mitt Romney in November if the presidential candidate “can show that he’s got a clear plan” to reform America.

“I think Gov. Romney’s got a shot if the ‘R’ next to his name doesn’t just stand for Republican, it stands for reformer, if he shows my state, and he shows Americans, that he’s got a plan to take on those reforms,” Walker said Sunday on CBS’ “Face the Nation.” “He’s got the capacity to do it.”

Walker said the country no longer can tolerate “big government,” and voters are looking for a leader who can put the country back on a path to economic recovery.

He added that he doesn’t typically think of firefighters, police officers and teachers as big government. “I think of, the bigger sense,” he said. “More government regulations, more stimulus, more things that take money out of the private sector and put it in the hands of the government.”

Romney needs a campaign that “goes big” and “goes bold” with a message of reform in order for him to win the crucial swing states, according to Walker.

“I don’t think we win if it’s just about a referendum on Barack Obama,” he said. “I think it’s got to be more.”
