In a photo she posted on Instagram, a free photo-sharing app, Rosines is seen flaunting a handful of U.S. currency, drawing outrage from Venezuelans on many levels.
Some took their complaints to social media, citing the difficulty experienced by most Venezuelans in accessing U.S. dollars. Others cited her father’s rhetoric against capitalism and consumerism, observing a double standard for those in Chavez’s inner circle versus the general Venezuelan public.
On Twitter, critics posted photos mocking Rosines, flaunting commodities like sugar that occasionally become scarce in the South American nation, marking their tweets with the hashtag #rosinesing.
