President Barack Obama’s campaign ads against Republican nominee Mitt Romney not only are untrue, they also are misguided, House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan said Sunday on CBS’ “Face the Nation.”

“People are not worried about the details as to when Mitt Romney left Bain Capital to save the Olympics, or the details about his assets, which are managed by a blind trust, for Pete’s sale,” said the Wisconsin Republican. “They’re worried about their jobs and their families’ future, and Barack Obama, he doesn’t want to talk about that.”

Obama’s ads insinuate Romney has committed a crime by misleading the public about his role and responsibility at the private-investment firm.

“This is not the 2008 Barack Obama we thought we were getting,” Ryan said. “This is not the candidate of hope and change.”

When asked by host Bob Schieffer whether he has been tapped as a possible Romney running mate, Ryan answered, “I am not going to answer that question.”
