Despite Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s new offer to negotiate with the international community, LIGNET believes Iran has no intention of halting its nuclear weapons program and we see evidence that its timetable to complete a nuclear weapon is actually getting shorter. The most compelling evidence: a vast laboratory built into the side of a mountain that will keep weapons far out of sight and beyond the reach of U.S. or Israeli air strikes. The United States must be on watch, and be prepared for a military conflict in the Persian Gulf later this year if Iran does not offer concessions soon.
