It's a frightening prospect for many, but Mitt Romney appears not to have a ghost of a chance of winning the election — that is if you believe one seasonal survey.

Costume retailer Spirit Halloween claims that in the last four presidential votes the candidate whose mask has sold the most has gone on to win the White House.

And this year President Barack Obama's likeness is outselling Mitt Romney's by nearly two-to-one.

Urgent Poll: Romney Vs. Obama – VOTE NOW!

"Our presidential index has proven to be a consistent and accurate predictor of the next president for nearly two decades," said company CEO and president Steven Silverstein.

Since the company started keeping records, Bill Clinton outsold Bob Dole by
71 percent to 29; George W. Bush outsold Al Gore by 57 percent to 43; Bush outsold John Kerry by 65 percent to 35 and Obama outsold John McCain by 60 percent to 40.

With five weeks to go before the fright night, Obama is beating Romney in the mask stakes by 64 percent to 36, said Silverstein.
