Bribery, Kickbacks Suspected in GSA Scandal

The General Services Administration inspector general now suspects possible bribery and kickbacks in the expanding Las Vegas spending scandal, The Washington Post reports.

Inspector General Brian Miller told a congressional committee looking into the 2010 $823,000 Las Vegas conference that his office has asked the Justice Department to investigate “all sorts of improprieties” including bribes and possible kickbacks.

The revelations came as a series of congressional hearing got under way into the scandal that led to resignations, firings, and officials being put on administrative leave.

Those on administrative leave, some earning salaries in the six figures, are still being paid, a fact that drew fire from Congress.
