A GOP representative who was slammed by Auschwitz officials for posting videos inside a gas chamber removed the media Wednesday and apologized for doing it, The Hill reported.

In the video, Clay Higgins, R-La., filmed around the memorial, saying, "A great sense of dread comes over you in this place."

He also said the gas chamber killings took only about 20 minutes and show why the U.S. military "must be invincible." The theme for "Schindler's List" plays in the background.

NOLA.com still has the video posted in its entirety on its YouTube channel.

The Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial and Museum condemned Higgins, along with the Anne Frank Center.

"I filmed the Auschwitz message with great humility," Higgins said in part. "My intent was to offer a reverent homage to those who were murdered in Auschwitz and to remind the world that evil exists, that free nations must remember, and stand strong.

"However, my message has caused pain to some whom I love and respect. For that, my own heart feels sorrow. Out of respect to any who may feel that my video posting was wrong or caused pain, I have retracted my video."
