Embattled former Congressman Anthony Weiner’s wife, Huma Abedin, is taking a breather from both her position with the State Department and her husband, reports the New York Post.

"She is definitely taking time off away from her husband and chilling," the Post quotes an unnamed source as saying.

The 46-year-old Weiner, meanwhile, is thought to be headed to a rehabilitation facility “for at least a couple of weeks.” The Post quoted a Democratic former colleague of Weiner on Wednesday as saying the rehab program is "going to be something a bit intense.”

The 35-year-old Abedin, who is pregnant with the couple’s first baby, returned from a trip to Africa with Secretary of State Hillary Clinton just before Weiner announced his resignation from his post in New York’s 9th Congressional District on June 16, shortly after his “sexting” scandal came to light.

The source said Abedin’s family "is going to be watching her like a hawk, like she's under a microscope."
